A letter from the Washington State Bishops
It’s been said that kindness comes in many forms but always from the heart. As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, we ask that you open your heart to infants, children, mothers and dads in desperate need of love and kindness.
The PREPARES statewide program is a nurturing response and promise to mothers and fathers who have chosen life. A promise of support and care from pregnancy to their child’s fifth birthday. Regardless of religious beliefs, this parish based program offers low income families vital life affirming services.
Your PREPARES gift, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated and will help ensure that these critical services continue to thrive and expand in parishes in your region and all across the state of Washington.
From our own hearts, we extend the kindness of prayer that you and your family are abundantly blessed and that all those in the sacred care of PREPARES will be renewed by our loving mission of compassion.
With gratitude, we are yours in the heart of Christ.

“There are no words to express my thanks for how you saved me and my baby. An unexpected pregnancy hurled me into despair and anger. An acquaintance referred me to the PREPARES program at a local Catholic parish. I am not Catholic but I came to know true charity. Without judgment, I was embraced by kind people who assured me that despite my bleak circumstances, the road ahead with my child would be paved with unconditional support. I could never have dreamed how my life would be changed. I thank every helping hand and loving heart that gave me the confidence, strength and joy to become a good mother. You really did save me and my baby and I love you all for that.– PREPARES mom
This program has made a huge difference in my ability to have, keep, care for and truly appreciate the miracle of life.– PREPARES Family
My faith has grown through the PREPARES ministry, and I have been blessed by God. I have received far more than I have given– PREPARES Volunteer
